Employee Profile: Joe Hocklander Inducted Into Alabama Building Industry Hall of FamePosted November 16, 2016
Joe Hocklander, senior residential marketing representative for Mobile Gas, is known to be one of the hardest working employees at the natural gas utility. And his hard work has not gone unnoticed. On October 28, 2016, he was inducted into the Alabama Building Industry Hall of Fame during the Home Builder’s Association of Alabama’s (HBAA) annual convention in Nashville, Tennessee. This is the highest honor presented by HBAA. Hocklander is the fifth person from Mobile to receive the award since it was created in 1988. He joined Mobile Gas in 1982.
“We were thrilled to learn Joe was inducted into the Alabama Building Industry Hall of Fame, however, it was not a surprise,” said Kesshia Davis, director of marketing and community relations. “Joe knows the true value of creating relationships with our builders and finding out what new projects are coming down the pipeline. His affiliation with the Home Builder’s Association of Alabama on a local and state level has paid off tremendously for Mobile Gas.”
Hocklander is a member of the Home Builders Association of Metro Mobile and the Baldwin County Home Builders Association, serving on several committees.
“This is the highest honor I have ever received for anything,” said Hocklander. “I love my job and meeting new people, especially those who love building homes with natural gas.”
At the state level, Hocklander has served as HBAA Associate Committee Chair and the Past Associates Committee Chair. In 2011 he served as HBAA Associate Vice President. In 2009 he was named the HBAA’s Associate of the Year.
