Mobile Gas Participates in United Way Day of CaringPosted April 25, 2016
Mobile Gas employees rolled up their sleeves and gave their time and service to the United Way of Southwest Alabama’s 22nd Annual Day of Caring. On April 22, 2016, employees spent the day sprucing up Dumas Wesley Community Center in Mobile, Alabama.
They performed tasks such as power washing sidewalks, trimming hedges, cleaning out apartment units, and more.
The United Way Day of Caring promotes the spirit and value of volunteerism and demonstrates the power of LIVING UNITED. The annual event also generates positive community relationships and helps to develop contacts between volunteers, agencies and workplaces.
Mobile Gas’ participation in the United Way’s Day of Caring gives employees an opportunity to work together to make a difference in the communities in which they serve.
“It makes me proud to work for a company that supports our community,” said Devon Bergeron, procurement specialist for Mobile Gas. ” I was fortunate to lead a team of hardworking, dedicated individuals. Our team’s efforts helped save Dumas Wesley Community Center money that could be used in other areas.”
Dumas Wesley Community Center is a nonprofit organization that strives to educate, empower and enrich the local community through collaborative programs such as youth programs, senior independent activities, transitional housing and more.
