2016 Mobile Gas Exceptional Youth of the Month Winners AnnouncedPosted April 1, 2016
Mobile Gas has selected the 2016 Exceptional Youth of the Month winners. This year’s recipients will receive 20 tickets to a Mobile BayBears baseball game at Hank Aaron Stadium and each guest will receive a free hot dog and drink. The winners will also receive special recognition on the field before and during the game.
The students (elementary or middle school) were chosen for finding unique ways to make their communities a better place to live in either Mobile County or Baldwin County. The 2016 Mobile Gas Exceptional Youth of the Month winners are:
William (Joey) Large – Joey is an Honor Roll student at Collier Elementary School. He delivers treats while visiting Gordon Oaks Retirement Community. He also helped secure donations for the babies in USA Children’s and Women’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit by creating a Blankets for Babies campaign. Game Day Recognition: April 14, 2016 at 6:00 pm
Breanna Sprinkle – Breanna attends Anna F. Booth Elementary School in Irvington. So far this year, Breanna has participated in the Apple Snail cleanup at Municipal Park and collected items for the local Mission of Hope. In her spare time, she serves dinner at McKemie Place (an overnight shelter for single, homeless women), volunteers at the Ronald McDonald House and collects items for a local homeless shelter in Grand Bay. Jason Burks – Jason is a fifth grader at W.H. Council Traditional School. He has a deep passion for collecting rocks and aspires to be a scientist. Jason has been a member of the Rock and Gem Society since third grade. A member of the National Elementary Honor Society, Jason has also been on the CTS AB Honor Roll 17 times throughout elementary school. Game Day Recognition: June 1, 2016 at 6:00 pm
Alvin Jarreau, Jr. – Alvin is currently the Middle School President of North Mobile Christian School and so far has delivered on his campaign promises. He has even gone as far as having students sign petitions and complete surveys to have some of the activities his classmates wanted. This leadership experience has given Alvin the confidence to become a role model among his peers. Game Day Recognition: July 27, 2016 at 6:00 pm
Jordan Johnson – Jordaon has been an honor roll student since he started school and maintained that status throughout middle school while attending Clark-Shaw Magnet School. He has volunteered in several community service events and is active in his church. Jordan is a member of the Babe Ruth League and was selected to be a part of People-to-People. He also serves as a member of the Mobile Kappa Knight Mentoring Program, which serves to promote academic awareness, good ethical standards and unity among young men, to create intelligent and effective leaders.
